NPQ Hosts Annual Review of Giving USA Findings

2018 Philanthropy and its Big Implications for Nonprofits

Wednesday, June 26th, at 1:00 pm—2:00 pm EST

The Giving USA report for 2018 did not, on its surface, look disastrous, though it did show a downturn in giving. In fact, twice as many categories of nonprofits saw fundraising losses last year as saw gains and there are a number of findings here and in other research that should indicate trouble afoot for many nonprofits as far as individual donations are concerned. Yet there are actions that can be taken both by nonprofits and philanthropy to reverse trends that are problematic.

Sign up today for NPQ’s annual Giving USA Webinar, which we’re excited to present next week. There is a maximum capacity so sign up early.

On Wednesday, June 26th from 1:00 – 2:00pm ET, NPQ will welcome back one of the primary researchers on the Giving USA study, Dr. Patrick Rooney, Executive Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Professor of Economics and Philanthropic Studies at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI. He will help us all understand how giving trends really played out in practice, which fields saw more giving and which saw less, whether certain kinds of giving increased or decreased, and what all of this might mean for fundraisers in the trenches.

You can send your questions to editorinchief@npqmag.org to have them answered during the web event.
