After the Donation: A Research Based Workshop on Retaining Donors

Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 2-3pm EST

We all know that donor retention has far better return on investment than donor acquisition, but retention remains an underdeveloped area in many smaller nonprofits. There is plenty of research that can inform our work in this area—how do we put it to work for our own groups?

Join seasoned fundraising expert Simone Joyaux as she discusses the research about and practices of donor retention. Simone has decades of experience working with groups of all sizes and capacities. Her suggestions are never one-size-fits-all and are always well-informed both by academic inquiry and empirical experience, making her one of the most prized fundraising trainers in the country.

Among the questions that will be addressed are:

What do we know about what works to retain as many current donors as possible?

What are the standards for retention and how do the original method of acquisition, subsequent engagement, and communication practices affect those?

But we also want to know what questions you want answered, so feel free to send them our way before the workshop and we will integrate them into the presentation. You can send your questions to editorinchief@npqmag.org
